The cooking system, rated at 48,000 Btu's, includes 4 stainless steel burners and Weber's Snap-Jet individual-burner ignition system. The cooking grates are equipped with stainless steel, 9-1/2-millimeter rods for easy cleaning and optimal durability. Weber's stainless steel Flavorizer bars eliminate grease-fueled flare-ups that often occur with standard lava rocks and ceramic briquettes. Fats and juices are vaporized when they hit the angled bars and quickly sizzle away, adding delicious, smoky barbecue flavor rather than cauterizing flames. First off I want you to know I am an owener of a Big Texas by thermos grill. I have used this grill for over 10 years while I was on a budget in college. I was in need of a new grill as this one is wearing out. I looked everywhere and decided on the Weber E-450. At first I thought it was a little expensive, until I read all of the reviews on this grill and the 310-320 series grills. I chose this grill because it was bigger than the 310 and the knobs are located on the front, giving you vaulable needed workspace. The side burner is a powerful burner much like the biggest burner on your kitchen stove. The grill heats up quickly with only 3 of the 4 burners on. Another feature that I liked is the handle light. It works better than reviews have given it as it dims as you lower the lid. I think if you had 2 of them you could cook without lights on at all. Overall this is by far the best investment I have made in a long time. My advise is to go to Homedepot and play with the Weber 310 and then the other grills and just feel the difference in quality. I bought my grill on Amazon and saved several hundered over homedepot on the e-450. You will be happy you paid a little more for the quality you get.
