I have had two of these rooters, and am ordering the third. My sink in my kitchen window has a wide counter space behind it, and a large window. The rooter hangs from a hook in the ceiling, and looks great. What folks talk about, though, is that inside we have a beta fish. Several plants are safe to stick in the top and grow roots while he is in there, and I have now had this through two planters and probably on our third fish(in 5 years). I simply love this and in 5 years have not wanted to change it. If anyone is considering an idea like this, it is hard to find a rooter LARGE ENOUGH to house a fish, yet SMALL ENOUGH to not be too heavy to hang from the ceiling. ALSO, it has a wider opening (2.5")than most rooters, so it makes it easier to feed the fish and clean the bowl. The size is perfect for a focal piece in the window (not too small). Holds about 22 oz. water (info that is NOT in the item description). Because of the fish, plant, and sunny location, it does grow algae quickly and I need to clean this thing about every 2-3 weeks. The reason I have ordered my third one is that it is easy to break the glass when cleaning out the inside. I WILL SAY, THOUGH, that the manufacturer NEVER said it was designed to hold a fish, let alone be cleaned with a brush, scrubbing algae out of nooks. I just have to be careful. Nonetheless, the thin glass is why I gave it four stars. I love it so much it is worth the cost of replacing every other year or so. Betas are beautiful and VERY low maintenance. My kids even name them! Just thought I'd throw that out there.
